Introducing the Problem
ITC designed soft accessories for brands that included Nordstrom, Poler, Urban Outfitters, Pacific Sunwear, and Forever XXI. Referred to role by former classmate.
When Creative Director discovered I had a writing background, he asked me to help him develop the first “Year In Review” newsletter.
Goal: create first annual newsletter for email subscribers.
Challenge: no sample emails, brief, or keywords as starting point. No metrics, data, or objectives to target.
Solution
Started with a few questions for the creative director.
Who is your audience/demographic?
What causes inspired you to start?
What sets this brand apart? Unique selling point?
Why socks?
Do you support sustainable initiatives?
Why did you decide to go the sustainable route?
How does the brand emphasize customer involvement to bring change to this industry?
How does the brand participate in movements bigger than itself?
Also, how does the brand show up in local communities?
Requested certifications to be included.
To thank our customers, I pitched to send handwritten postcards for supporting the brand.
Results
Pitched idea to open with how much water was saved in a year, which creative director approved and implemented.
